Here’s what’s ‘hop-pening’ this weekend in Penticton

Easter celebrations, Ignite the Arts and the Vees’ regular-season finale all coming up

Easter weekend is here and many things are going on in and around Penticton:

Here’s what’s happening from March 29 to 31:

Easter Egg Hunts (March 29 to 31)

Egg hunts are planned across the region, including in Summerland, Naramata, Okanagan Falls, Keremeos, Oliver, Osoyoos and West Bench.

Naramata’s Manitou Park will hold an event on Friday at 10 a.m., with Mariposa Park in West Bench running its holiday festivities at the same time.

The Oliver Community Park, meanwhile, hosts its Easter festivities on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Osoyoos’ Gyro Park welcomes families for holiday festivities on Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Home Hardware in Osoyoos is also hosting an egg hunt, starting at noon on Saturday.

Summerland’s Memorial Park will have an Easter event on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to noon.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, the Ve Oh Lay Acres in Summerland is welcoming people for Easter celebrations.

Phantom Creek Estates Winery in Oliver will also have an egg hunt event, on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Keremeos’ Grist Mill will celebrate Easter with a community-wide gathering at 11 a.m.

Okanagan Falls Lions Park will be hosting holiday-related events on Sunday, starting at 1 p.m.

Ignite the Arts Festival (March 29 to 31)

The third annual Ignite the Arts Festival kicks off in Penticton on Friday, with the popular Parade For No Reason.

Ending on Sunday night with an after-party at the Hub on Martin, the festival will feature more than 70 performers across 10 Penticton venues.

Vees’ regular-season finale (March 29 and 31)

The Penticton Vees host the Trail Smoke Eaters on Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre, before welcoming the West Kelowna Warriors on Sunday for the last game of the regular season.

After Penticton’s showdown with West Kelowna, the team will distribute its end-of-season awards to select players.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The first-place Vees will battle the Prince George Spruce Kings in the playoffs’ first round, which begins on April 5.

Easter Brunch at Penticton Lakeside Resort (March 31)

The Penticton Lakeside Resort hosts an Easter brunch on Sunday.

Kids aged 10 and under can bring their own basket for an outdoor Easter egg hunt.

Pet goats from GottaGoat Petting Farm will also be featured.

People can purchase tickets by calling 250-493-9752. Seating will happen at 11 a.m and noon.
