Some properties on the east side of the 200 Block of Main Street will have limited access to their back lane and will experience power disruptions starting the week of September 10.

The work will include lots from Backstreet Blv. to Nanaimo Ave. E.

Work involves relocating overhead utilities underground, to make space, repositioning existing water, sanitary and storm sewers.

“During construction, access and service disruptions should be anticipated. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians should consider alternative access to properties located along the lane. In the event of a planned electric service disruption, impacted properties will be given 48 hours notice,” a press release from the City of Penticton stated.

Work typically takes place between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Work to utilities and and the sewer systems are expected to be complete in November, with final repaving scheduled for sometime in the spring of 2019.

“The City of Penticton wishes to thank everyone for their patience while this scheduled and planned work is carried out along this lane,” said Shawn Filice, electric utility manager, in the press release.
