A man was deported back to the U.S. after he was reported walking on the highway near Summerland in bare feet with a blanket wrapped around him on Aug. 16.
He told police he was doing a “dharma walk” or a meditative pilgrimage. The man was from California and entered Canada illegally on July 1. He said he walked from Salmon Arm to Summerland.
