Dog owners rejoice, there are perks to having a licenced pooch in Penticton.

The city’s animal care and control is teaming up with local businesses to offer special rates, services or discounts for those with current dog licences.

Want to treat your pooch to something special?

Blenz Coffee is offering a free pup-acinno with dog cookie for responsible owners across the city.

Other “paw perks” include a free nail trim at Lucky’s Pet Supply and $20 off at Scooper Doo Waste Removal Services.

All perks can be found here.

“Having a licence for your pup is important in the event they ever wander off,” the city says in a press release. “Dog tags help Animal Care and Control reunite owners with their furry loved ones.”

Owners with current tags can pick up their Paw Perks Rewards card at Penticton Animal Care and Control Services at 2330 Dartmouth Drive to get started.

A licence is required for dogs three months and older.

Those who purchased new tags — at city hall or the animal care and control services facility — will receive their rewards card instantly.
