A load of sheet-metal fell off a semi-truck causing debris to spill across Highway 97 in Penticton, blocking a north lane.
The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The metal was heavy enough to damage a concrete median on the highway.
Police officers are working to remove the debris from the road, however strong winds are scattering the material.
Traffic is backed up into Penticton to the Channel Parkway. It’s unclear when the road will be cleared.
No one was injured in the incident.
