Youth taking their first steps into the work force are getting a hands-on look at the skills they will need for in-demand occupations with the help of WorkBC.
WorkBC’s Find Your Fit showcase of B.C.’s in-demand jobs is coming to Penticton Secondary School on Feb. 17.
Find Your Fit is an interactive event for individuals of all ages providing information about careers that are in demand throughout the province, demonstrating online resources for finding work and giving people a chance to try some of the skills needed for different careers.
Find Your Fit connects participants with labour market information resources like the blueprint builder at workbc.ca/blueprintbuilder which helps users map their career plan.
The Find Your Fit booth will be open to the public from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at no cost.
“This hands-on event is an amazing chance for young people to learn about interesting career options — careers that they might not have though about previously. There will be many in-demand jobs in the South Okanagan and throughout B.C. in the next few years and this is a great opportunity for local students,” said Dan Ashton, Penticton MLA, in a press release.
