An armed, masked man made off with an undisclosed amount of money from the 7-Eleven store at 2903 Skaha Lake Rd. early Tuesday morning.

“About 16 minutes after midnight the suspect entered the store with a bandana around his face carrying a hatchet and demanded money and left with a small quantity of cash,” said Rick Dellebuur of South Okanagan Similkameen CrimeStoppers. “He departed on foot heading south on Skaha Lake Road. Our police service dog tracked him to somewhere near the White Water Mobile Home Park and then the trail dissipated.”

The man is described as caucasian, six-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a plaid jacket at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
