Identifying problems and opportunities is about keeping your fingers on the pulse. No more Ivory Towers. By consistently talking to the taxpayer, business community and city employees directly I believe we can avoid many of the problematic issues now facing us.
To coin a phrase: It’s not rocket science, you need to communicate and collaborate. Above all listen to the good people around you and make competent, commercially astute decisions based on what’s happening on the ground.
