A cyclist, believed to be a male, was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital late Thursday morning after a collision with a small car on Government Street near Penticton Avenue. The car windshield was smashed, believed to be from the impact of the rider, and the bicycle wound up wedged underneath the vehicle.
Details of the accident and the rider's condition were not immediately available. It's not known if the injured person was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Police are continuing their investigation.
