Interior Savings is closing its doors for good in Okanagan Falls on Oct. 13.
“While we adjusted branch hours early last year to align with member usage and the opening of our new branch in the south end of Penticton, we continue to see very low usage of our Okanagan Falls branch,” representatives from the credit union wrote in an email.
“Given our obligation to all members to deliver sustainable operations, this has prompted a further assessment of our Okanagan Falls services and the decision to close the branch.”
The ATM and night deposit will remain in place, they added, and Okanagan Falls member accounts will be transferred to a nearby Penticton branch.
Despite the pending closure, no changes will be made to account numbers, cheques, automatic bill payments, transfers, or deposits for members in Okanagan Falls.
“We recognize this transition may be challenging for some and are committed to supporting members through this change,” a statement reads. “Our team will be connecting with those members who have continued to use the in-person services to talk through the options and, for those interested, to provide one-on-one training on our phone and online services.”
In November 2020, services at the Interior Savings branch in Okanagan Falls moved to one day a week. At the same time, its location in Osoyoos closed down.
