One man is in custody for an alleged stabbing that occurred at an Oliver residence.
Abraham Charleyboy, 32, was arrested by Oliver RCMP on June 3 after police responded to a reported stabbing on Highway 97 near Oliver. A local woman told police she was driving a male to the hospital around 1 a.m. after being stabbed repeatedly.
The alleged victim was at the woman’s residence and got into an argument which progressed into a fight, RCMP said. During the fight, police said that Charleyboy allegedly stabbed and slashed the man repeatedly and the injuries were serious and possibly life threatening.
A search warrant was executed on the residence later that morning and a weapon was recovered, police said.
Charleyboy is facing charges of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.
Charleyboy is scheduled for a bail hearing June 8 in Penticton Provincial Court.
