After the first day of early voting, more than 1,000 people have cast their ballot in Penticton.
The first day of early voting was October 5, and 1,066 people came out to vote ahead of the Oct. 15 municipal election.
So far the early votes are similar to the turnout in the 2018 municipal election.

The second day of early voting will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Trade and Convention Centre in Penticton.
Voters will also have one last early opportunity to cast their ballot on Oct. 13.
Up for election is one mayor from a field of five, six city councillors from a field of 16, and four school trustees from a field of six candidates.
