There has been a lot of effort put into the planning of the downtown renovations and I need to say that I only have a partial understanding of all the elements right now.
That being said, I do not think that losing one of the lanes is good for the city. The speed limit is already 30 km on downtown Main Street and I don’t think that this is the best way to utilize the money at this time. Many of the downtown businesses oppose this project and I am not sure that the division of cost is fair to all.
I would like it if the project could be put on hold until the new council is in and could judge it fairly on it’s merits.
