Destination Osoyoos has announced the appointment of Gail Scott as the organization’s new managing director.
An experienced community economic development professional, Scott has previously held senior management positions with the Peachland Chamber of Commerce, Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Authority, Olds Institute for Community and Regional Development, Venture Kamloops, and the provincial Ministry of Small Business, Tourism, and Culture.
In her new role, Scott will provide business leadership and direction for all elements of organization from a destination marketing, visitor servicing, community and economic development standpoint.
“Osoyoos is an incredible community in which to live, work and play,” Scott said.
“Working with the Destination Osoyoos marketing and development teams is really exciting for me. It speaks to my strong belief that the most vibrant of regions not only understand but also appreciate the importance of broad based community collaboration, beneficial partnerships built on trust and respect, and innovative and diversified return on investment business opportunities which have the potential to create balanced year round growth”.
Don Brogan, chair of the Destination Osoyoos parent society, said Scott will team with marketing director Brianne Hearle “in continuing to raise awareness of our destination and forge ahead, helping our community grow, prosper and foster an environment of economic growth for our business community and our residents.”
