A sixteen-year-old girl has died in an accident on Hwy. 97 outside Oliver this evening.
At 5:35 p.m. a 16-year-old female pedestrian crossed Hwy. 97 in front of a southbound motorhome on the north side of Oliver.
The motorhome attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was unsuccessful. The pedestrian was transported to South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver where she was pronounced deceased.
RCMP Sgt. Harold Hallett of South Okanagan Traffic Services said no charges are anticipated.
