A female pedestrian was killed on Highway 97 in the Gallagher Lake area on Tuesday.

RCMP said the woman ran across the road and into the path of a northbound vehicle around 6:45 p.m.

People at the scene immediately came to the women's aid, including a physician, however she had suffered immediate fatal injuries as a result of the collision said RCMP.

"In addition to the scene and vehicle examination, our investigators are trying to firmly establish the woman's activities that day into the evening and up to the time of the collision. We are looking for information about her exact whereabouts and what she was doing," said Cpl. Bryce Petersen.
