Days after tenants were evicted from a known problem property, the Penticton bylaw department is still being kept busy there.

Bylaw officer Jamie Benoit estimates there were parts for upwards of 60 to 80 bicycles on the property, however almost all were disassembled.

“Everything was of interest to the RCMP. They went through all the parts and bits and pieces that were of any value, that wasn’t damaged. They took a log of and went through with their stolen items reports and the rest were off the recycling centre,” said Benoit.

Two bicycles were found intact and had been reported stolen, according to Benoit. He said the RCMP have dealt with those and went through the parts to see if anything had registration numbers on them to make contact with the owners.

“Right now, the homeowner is taking care of all the clean up and has employed several people to fill up the bins with the garbage,” said Benoit of the other items that were in the yard of the property.
