About 200 customers will be affected by Thursday's planned outage in Okanagan Falls

The downtown core in Okanagan Falls is expected to be without power for four hours on Thursday.

FortisBC said in an press release the planned outage is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to allow crews to replace a power pole that was damaged in a motor vehicle accident.

The utility company reminds the nearly 200 customers who will be affected to keep electronics safe using surge protectors, conserve cell phone batteries and make sure they know how to use the manual release on garage doors equipped with electric openers.
