A car fire at the Penticton Regional Hospital could have ended far worse if employees and firefighters weren’t quick to contain it.
At 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 17, the fire department was called to deal with the fire in the rear parking lot of the Penticton Regional Hospital.
The vehicle had flames coming from the engine compartment and caused considerable damage to the vehicle according to assistant fire chief Rob Trupp.
The fire could have been worse, as it near to a pressurized cylinder in the parking lot. Quick action by employees and the firefighters contained the fire to the vehicle.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
