A chance encounter during a downtown foot patrol led Penticton RCMP to an arrest Wednesday.
At about 9:15 a.m., Penticton RCMP officers who were conducting their daily foot patrol in the downtown area when they came across a man who they recognized as being a suspect in an alleged assault that happened on Dec. 15.
The 48 year-old man was later released by police later that day. Investigators will be forwarding their findings to crown counsel for charge consideration.
