Search and Rescue teams are currently looking for Lynne Carmody and Rick Moynan after they failed to return from a hike near Keremeos.

Local Search and Rescue teams have yet to locate two hikers who didn’t return from a June 22 hike near Keremeos.

Keremeos RCMP received a report of two overdue hikers, a male and female both believed to be between 50-60 years old.

A local Lodge said that Lynne Carmody and Rick Moynan left around 10 a.m. to go for a hike and were supposed to return that evening.

When the couple did not return, staff at the lodge conducted a brief search themselves but were unsuccessful and contacted police.

Search and Rescue (SAR) was activated immediately and they began a search the morning of June 23 by foot, vehicle and air.

The upper camp from where the two went missing was at approximately the 6800 foot elevation level.

As of 5 p.m. Tuesday the search continues and the hikers are still unaccounted for.
