Robinson wants to let business decide on revitalization

City of Penticton: Robinson, Katie — Council candidates explain how downtown revitalization should roll out
City of Penticton Staff
Incumbent Katie Robinson is seeking re-election to Penticton city council.

The revitalization project was started before my term on council, and although I agree some revite is necessary, I totally disagree with changing from three lanes down to two.

I think we have better things to spend money on (like cleaning sidewalks). We should start with law enforcement of the current speed limit before turning our entire downtown area into a school zone. The process is now in the hands of the downtown businesses to see if they are willing to buy into the project at which point it will come back to council for a final decision.

This is a phased-in  project so if it doesn’t work, we have the ability to make changes in the future.
