The Blue Mountain fire in Penticton is still classified as out of control but good progress is being made on the blaze.
According to BC Wildfire Services information officer Shaelee Stearns, there has been no growth of the 54 hectare fire in the last two days and a decrease in fire activity on Sunday.
BC Wildfire had a crew work through the night.
There are 25 personnel, one helicopter and heavy machinery to create a guard line.
The Penticton Indian Band posted to their Facebook page the the Blue Mountain fire is 100 per cent behind containment lines.
“PIB EOC gives thanks to everyone working so hard to keep our community protected,” PIB wrote on their PIB EOC page.
The Blue Mountain erupted Friday afternoon, 15 kilometres from the Keremeos Creek fire. Under hot and windy conditions, the fire experienced rank 4 fire behaviour and spread overnight from less than one hectare to 50 hectares in size.
The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation, said Stearns.
