There have been a number of recent suspicious dumpster fires in Penticton.
Penticton Fire Department put out three dumpster fires in the middle of the night Monday, June 5.
Two garbage bins in the 1800 block of Main Street behind the PetSmart were set on fire around 12:50 a.m.
Firefighters arrived quickly to extinguish the fire with water and class-A foam.
The bin contained miscellaneous waste.
The fire is suspicious in nature, and RCMP were on scene, confirmed assistant fire chief Rob Trupp.
Then at 4:26 a.m., a large construction bin was on fire in the 2200 block of Main Street. The bin contained construction waste and cardboard. Fire crews extinguished the fire with water and foam. It is also suspicious in nature, said Trupp.
