Much of the Okanagan is under a severe thunderstorm watch this afternoon.
Environment Canada issued the warning around 11 a.m. about potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds and heavy downpours.
According to the bulletin: “An unstable airmass over the region will combine with temperatures near the 20 C degree mark to give some thunderstorms this afternoon.
“As these storms are slow moving there is the potential for (rain) amounts of 10 to 15 millimetres per hour and this could cause localized flooding through the South and Central Okanagan and into the Nicola region."
