After restless night for Robyn and Scott Nichol over their lost pug, Jack, the family has now been reunited.

Robyn Nichol said their family pet was found in a nearby residence in Osoyoos by one of her friends. She said Jack went missing on Sunday afternoon and a tip they received in their initial search was that someone allegedly spotted a person driving a truck pick up the dog and drive away.

"A friend went out knocking on random doors and ended up finding him," said Robyn. "I'm still really upset and don't understand why they took him, and why they wouldn't have notified anyone they had a lost dog. They came up with a weird response. My friend could hear Jack barking in the house and was told he was in the basement and they handed him over."

The Nichol's are thrilled they have their family member back at home and surprised by the outpouring of support that has been shown. A few posts on Facebook went viral.

"It is amazing to see everyone coming together. The power of social media is beyond me. It is phenomenal how fast the word is spread to even places beyond the Okanagan. There were posts in Calgary and the northern regions of B.C.," said Robyn. "I'm just glad there was a happy ending to our story. He is absolutely one of of our family members. He goes hunting and fishing and does everything with us. He is our little baby."

The pug was reunited with his family around 1 p.m. on Monday. Robyn said they are still emotional from the experience and have not decided if they will pursue anything further regarding the people who allegedly took the dog.
