Anyone interested in running for council or school board in Penticton can pick up their packages from City Hall or online starting June 30.

Municipal general elections are the most direct way for the public to influence their local government by choosing the individuals who will make decisions and govern on their behalf following general voting day.

The nomination packages will be available starting June 30, either physically from City Hall or digitally from penticton.ca

The municipal election will run on Oct. 15, and will see one mayor, six councillors and four school-board trustees elected.

The formal nomination period begins on Aug. 30 and ends on Sept. 9, and packages will only be accepted during this time.

Once the nomination period closes, there will be a campaign period from Sept. 17 to Oct. 15, with advance voting on Oct. 5, 8 and 13.
