Time to dig out those old vinyl albums

Peach City Radio is getting ready for their annual vinyl fest on Sept. 23, but first their looking for some help.

On Sept. 8, they’re holding their annual vinyl and audio equipment donation drive, looking for items that can be sold at the seventh annual Okanagan Vinyl Fest, one of the major fundraisers for the community radio station.

Vinyl and equipment can be dropped off at the Cannery Trade Centre parking lot, by McGavins Bread on Fairview Road between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

CFUZ is looking for donations of rock, pop, soul, and jazz vinyl records as well as donations of good quality audio equipment, in working order. These donated items will be tested by the CFUZ volunteers and readied to be sold at the Vinyl Fest.

The annual Okanagan Vinyl Fest has become a go to destination for vinyl lovers, with a range of vendors selling all genres of vinyl albums in the Seniors Drop-in Centre on South Main. Money raised through the Vinyl Fest supports Peach City Radio’s goal of broadcasting on the airwaves, a goal they are nearing, with the move from a 24/7 internet station (www.peachcityradio.org) to FM broadcasting getting closer every day.
