Truck versus SUV stalls traffic in Peachland

A tow truck is on scene and crews hope to have the accident cleared by 5:15 p.m.

Motorists heading through the Peachland area can expect serious delays after a large commercial truck and SUV collided Thursday afternoon.

The accident occured just after 4 p.m. in the intersection of Highway 97 at Princeton Avenue which backed up traffic in both directions.

Peachland Fire Chief Dennis Craig says emergency personnel have rerouted northbound traffic via Beach Avenue and are allowing southbound traffic through slowly along the highway.

All occupants of both vehicles were able to get out safely and were checked over by paramedics.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
