Original: 6:20 p.m.

Pieces of a vehicle were strewn across the intersection of the Channel Parkway and Green Avenue Friday evening after a crash between a compact car and a truck towing a trailer.

The compact car has severe damage to the front end and is sitting just north of the middle of the intersection.

The truck veered off the Channel Parkway heading north and behind the barricades on the side of the road.

It had damage to the front, pushing the hood up, and on the driver’s side.

A witness on scene reports a man had to be extricated from a Ford F-150 truck that was pinned against the rail guards along the walkway.

The extent of injuries is unknown. The Channel Parkway is shut down northbound.

RCMP, paramedics and firefighters are on scene.

More to come.
