A water main upgrade will affect a portion of Okanagan Falls. (Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen map)

A 200-metre section of water main will be upgraded and replaced in Okanagan Falls.

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is requiring Cedar Street Developments Ltd. (Wildstone Construction Group), the developer of Lemonade Lane to upgrade the water main as part of the development.

The water main is along Cedar Street in Okanagan Falls and is part of the water system owned and operated by the regional district.

There will be scheduled interruptions of water service, lasting four to six hours. Residents affected by the work will receive 48 hours of notice, in a written notice delivered to their property.

The work is scheduled to begin April 8 and is expected to take around three weeks to complete.

The project will also bring the water system up to adequate standards and will improve water capacity and fire flow in the area.
