Wildfire breaks out near Keremeos

The fire is estimated to be 2.5 hectares in size

Another wildfire has ignited in the South Okanagan, this time by Keremeos.

The lightning-caused blaze sparked sometime on Sunday, July 11.

It is estimated to be 2.5 hectares in size and is located near Blind Creek,

BC Wildfire crews are also on the scene of a fast-moving blaze near Okanagan Falls. The Thomas Creek wildfire was last estimated at 500 hectares in size and is expected to continue to grow.

There are 77 homes on evacuation order and 627 properties on evacuation alert but no structures are in direct threat.
