A 26-year-old driver was sent to the hospital and her status is unknown after rolling over the 200-metre embankment off Carmi Rd.
At approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday police were called to a report of a vehicle travelling on Carmi Rd. rolling down the embankment ending up behind a property on 1656 Holden Rd. Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene.
The female driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was trapped inside. Fire crews used the jaws of life to open the car door and extract the female. The driver was transported to Penticton Regional Hospital.
The cause of the incident is still being actively investigated and the possibility of impaired driving has not been ruled out.
