On Thursday, April 26, 2018, Henry Yates passed away peacefully at Moog & Friends Hospice House. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Eleanor and son Jeffrey.
He is survived by his daughter Janice (Glen) Simister; granddaughters, Moriah (Branden) Chase, Samantha (Kyle) Yates; great grandchildren, Skylar, Talon, and Conner; and several nieces and nephews.
Henry was born in Wynyard, SK and moved to BC at the age of 17, shortly thereafter he began his 38 year career with Woodward's Stores. He spent his life enjoying time with family, Scouting, woodworking, gardening, stone painting, genealogy and many morning walks at Skaha Lake Park.
Our family wishes to thank the nurses at PRH, home support workers and a special thanks to all the staff of Moog Hospice for their kindness, professionalism and compassionate care. Henry went to join Eleanor, the love of his life on her birthday, as theirs was a true love story.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Saviour's Anglican Church, 150 Orchard Avenue, Penticton on Friday, May 04, 2018 at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Penticton & District Hospice Society.
