December 12, 1927 - May 14, 2024

In loving memory ~

On May 14, 2024 Ambros was promoted to a higher service, passing away very peacefully at the Moog and Friends Hospice House at the age of 96 years.

He leaves behind his daughters, Ingrid (Brad), Lorraine (Michael), Brenda and his loving companion, Gertie; sisters, Waltraud (Herman), Hildegard (Hugo); grandsons, Justin (Jocelyn), Kurtis (Haley) and Christopher; granddaughter, Lenae (Nick); great-grandchildren, Josiah, Esther, Rebecca, Hailey and Wyatt; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors here and abroad.

Ambros was predeceased by his wife, Mary; daughter, Anita, granddaughter, Kristen; sisters, Erna and Valerie; brother, Erwin and his parents.

Ambros was born in Karlsberg, Romania and immigrated to Canada in 1958 to follow and wed Mary. They settled in Regina, SK until relocating to Penticton, BC in 1974.

Ambros was a hard worker and great provider for his family. He became the neighborhood handyman, always willing to help.

He will be remembered for his "Green Thumb" with plentiful harvests of fruit, vegetables, and stunning flower gardens.

Ambros spent almost 20 years volunteering including Ironman Canada and was a loyal member of the German Heidelberg Club.

His claim to fame was at the Penticton Senior's Drop-in Centre where he was known as the Cinnamon Bun Man, baking fresh buns every Thursday morning.

His love of life and serving others made him a true social butterfly including dancing the night away whenever possible.

He is now dancing on streets that are golden amongst the most beautiful gardens imaginable.

You will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

A heart full of gratitude goes out to all the staff at the Hospice House and doctors attending to Ambros. Dr. Murphy and staff, thankyou for treating him with dignity, respect, quality care and kindness.

Prayers will be on Friday May 31, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. at Providence Funeral Homes, Penticton.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday June 1, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
