In loving memory ~
Audrey Laughlin (Reimer), 71, of Sidney, B.C., formerly of Penticton, B.C., passed away on July 24, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.
Audrey moved west after graduating high school in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and lived throughout Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon before passing away in Sidney, B.C.
Audrey loved to entertain and was always happiest when in the kitchen preparing food for family and guests. Audrey was one of 15 Reimer children, and she dearly loved her siblings. She is survived by siblings Victor Reimer, Eleanor Oakman, Louise Johnsgaard, Murray, Bruce (Chalong) Reimer, Delma Yarrow, Norma (Adam) Schell, Garth (Avril) Reimer, Donna (Murray) Hjermenrude, and in-laws Alice Reimer, Sandra Hinks, and 29 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Hilda Reimer; siblings Melvin Reimer, Ronald (Ronnie) Reimer, Allan Reimer, Harold Reimer, and Anne Reimer; and in-laws Henriette Reimer, Jeanette Reimer, Shirley Anderson, Joe Yarrow, Garfield Oakman, and Delnor Johnsgaard.
Audrey wanted to say a special thank you to her friends for all of their messages and support during her battle with ALS. She also wanted to say a special thank you to the Browne family of Penticton, B.C., and the Ehler and Klassen families of Medicine Hat, AB, for making her feel like part of their families. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where Audrey spent her final weeks.
Audrey's celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on September 3, 2023, at Parkside Memorial Funeral Home in Swift Current, SK. If desired, friends can make a donation to the ALS Society in honour of Audrey.
