In Loving Memory ~

On November 30, 2023, Betty passed away peacefully at Orchard Haven in Keremeos.

Betty was pre-deceased by her husband, Ken Schwager and parents, David and Hilda Schneider.

Betty is survived by her children, Debbie (Amadeu) Amaral, Raymond (Karen) Schwager and Jennifer (John) Fleming, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Betty was born in Lafleche, Saskatchewan. At age 9, her family moved to BC, settling in Keremeos. In July 1952, Betty married Ken. On a small farm in Keremeos they raised their three children. While working in the Packing House and later in the Post Office, Betty managed the farm. In retirement, Betty baked pies for local restaurants.

Throughout her life, Betty was a Girl Guide leader and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary for the Legion and the Royal Purples. Betty enjoyed going to Meat Draws, playing cards, walking, and visiting with friends and family that dropped in. Betty always had some fresh baking ready to serve with a cup of coffee.

A celebration of Betty's life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Keremeos Victory Hall on Main Street.

We would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Orchard Haven for their loving care of Betty.
