It is with heavy hearts that the Stang Family announce the sudden passing of their beloved daughter, sister, auntie and friend Debora A. Stang. After a short but courageous fight, Deb passed away quietly at Penticton Regional Hospital on March 8, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Born and raised in Penticton, Deb was the first born of 4 children of Edwin and Josephine Stang. Early education included St. Joseph Catholic School (now Holy Cross), O'Connell Elementary and finally Penticton Secondary School.
After high school, Deb embarked on a successful career as a Chef in the culinary field. Many people will remember her fondly from Zellers Restaurant until her retirement in 2012.
Debs passion included her lifelong love of animals (especially the many cats she loved over the years), her favourite T.V. show "The Walking Dead", any cooking show, but most importantly being an Auntie (Bubbee) to her nieces and nephews. They were her #1 pride and joy throughout the years.
Deb was kind and loving, and had a pure, unselfish heart. She enjoyed the same joyful spirit that made her dad (Ed) such a popular and wonderful man.
She possessed an earthly wisdom and was always available to share advice, opinions and just to lend an ear to listen. Her advice was especially invaluable to her sisters throughout the years.
Deb tackled all of life's challenges with fierce determination and always maintained a positive attitude no matter how difficult things became. She truly was an inspiration to her entire family.
Deb was predeceased by her mother in 1990, and her father in 2011. Deb is survived by her sisters Patty (Dave), Sandy and brother Brad (Joanne), and Auntie Bubbee will be forever cherished by nieces and nephews: Ryan, Megan, Drake, Rachel and Baillie.
Deb is resting peacefully with her parents at Lakeview Cemetery. Due to COVID restrictions there will be no service at this time. Instead we ask that you light a candle in her memory and listen to "The Dance" by Garth Brooks and "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, two of Debs favourite songs.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Debs memory to the Penticton SPCA.
Deb was proud of her strong faith-based upbringing and the belief that death is not the end, nor does it break the bonds forged in life.
The days of his/her death is a day of great joy, for he/she goes to their everlasting home in Heaven.
The family takes great comfort in knowing that Deb is at peace in Heaven and we'll all be together again one day.
