August 21, 1934 - April 15, 2020
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Florence "Terry" McDougall on April 15, 2020 at the age of 85 at her adopted home of Westview Place in Penticton, BC. Mom was the 13th child born to Herman and Dorothea Sharein in Erinview, Manitoba on August 21, 1934.
Mom and Dad (Harold) married in 1955 in Sarnia, Ontario and then settled down in West Vancouver to raise 3 children. In 1969 the family relocated to Penticton and together operated "Phil's Grocery" on Main Street from 1974 until 1982. Many may remember Mom from her other jobs at Bongarde or supervising the back mail shop at The Penticton Herald.
Her beautiful smile and generous spirit will be remembered and sadly missed by her children: Wayne (Donna), Gary (Sue) and Deb (Lawrence); her grandchildren Julius, James (Tiffany), Alex (Tara), Christopher (Jessica) and Holly (Perry); and many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Walters and the Westview Place staff and residents for their care and love for Florence where her last days were spent in comfort and peace. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPCA, colon cancer research or the Penticton Regional Hospital.
