In Loving Memory (1945-2023) ~
Frank went to be one in God's Universe on August 6, 2023.
Frank is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bobby (Roberta), extended family members, aunts, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and brother.
Frank was a man with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience and this was evident with his many friendships he valued that lasted throughout his lifetime. He had a natural ability to connect with people and had a quick wit to make one feel comfortable. He listened with genuine interest and always encouraged others in a positive way.
Frank earned his MSc degree at U of T and taught Science in Ontario until his retirement when he and Bobby moved to Penticton.
Frank truly was a Renaissance man, enjoying hiking, canoeing, golfing, skiing, triathlons, archery, seniors' hockey, and more. He hiked the entire difficult West Coast Trail and canoed the white water of the Wolf River in the Yukon.
Frank met the love of his life, Bobby, on a hiking trip to Tobermory on the Bruce Peninsula in Ontario. During their marriage, they shared an interest in nature and the out-of-doors that took them on many backpacking trips down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, canoe trips in Algonquin Park, Killarney, and on many of Ontario's rivers.
He had diverse interests including astronomy, old movies, westerns, and riding his Harley Davidson. Frank even became involved with the wine industry for a short time when he and Bobby first moved to B.C.
Deepest gratitude to his doctors, Kilian, Jasper, Davidson, Yavin, the oncology teams at KGH and PRH, and the 6th floor in PRH for their extraordinary care.
We are all truly grateful to those who provided comfort, prayers, and support to Frank and Bobby during this time.
To Live in Hearts We Leave Behind is Not to Die.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's name to the South Okanagan Similkameen (SOS) Medical Foundation, Oncology Campaign, Penticton Regional Hospital, 550 Carmi Ave., Penticton, B.C. V2A 3G6. Condolences may be left at providencefuneralhomes.com
