1942-2020 ~ Sadly, Gary passed away on September 8, 2020. Despite facing many health challenges in the past decade, and especially in the last six years, his spirit would not be confined.
Gary leaves behind his loving wife Alberta (Beppy) and his cherished family; daughter Catherine (Nick), grandchildren Erik and Rachel, daughter-in-law Linda, sisters Gail(Bob) and Jenifer(Dave) and brother Ron(Deb); brother-in-law John(Sherry), sister-in-laws Margie, Cathy and Teresa and numerous cousins.
Gary was a loving uncle to 25 nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his son Kevan, mother and father, and sister in-law Rita.
Gary was a self-made man starting his own business int he Calgary oil and gas industry in the 80s and was an early adopter of computers in business.
Gary and Beppy shared a love for travel and had many travel adventures in Europe and Asia over the years. They were early travellers to China in the 1980s where Gary garnered a part as a bad guy in a Chinese movie while they were there.
We would like to thank all his friends who have provided encouragement and unfailing support throughout his lifetime. Garys extended family included the Covert family, Linda Marie, a 62 year loving friendship with Sandra and Dick and 44 year caring friendship with Linda and Hal.
Upon retiring in Kaleden, Gary made many new close friends in the photo club and at St Andrews golf club including Steve, Mike, Paul, Cecilia and Bruce who shared his passion for photography and Ken, John, Rod, Brian and Jean were his go to golf buddies.
Thanks to the nurses and aides especially Debbie L.,C.A., Shannon,S.W. and Michelle,R.N.. Gary's inner strength and the will to live each day to the best of his ability with an open joyous heart and mind will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Due to COVID, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Gary and the memories we shared will be forever in our hearts and minds.
