In loving memory ~
Warner, George Wesley passed away peacefully at Penticton Regional Hospital with his family by his side after a lengthy battle with COPD on Sunday, February 19, in his 74th year.
Beloved partner and husband of Bonnie (nee Huyghebaert) for 30 years. Dear father of Veronica Marie Warner, Bobbi Jean Warner of London, Ontario. Brother of Rosemaire Warner LaFleche (Bryan) of Edmonton, Alberta. Loving grandpa of Nicholas Warner and Emmalee Warner. Stepfather of Kevin Duwyn (Sandra), Karen McBay, (Dave), and Kris Duwyn, (Amber). Step-grandfather of Taylor Duwyn, Julie McBay, April McBay, Nolan Duwyn, and Aidan Duwyn. Brother-in-law to Heddy Wagner, and Linda Grant (Don). Nieces and nephews Todd Warner (Tammy), Bryce LaFleche, Danny Wagner (Luann), Vincent Wagner, Brenda Cayley, Bernice Smith, Alex Grant (Natalie), Rachel Grant; great-nephews Aiden Warner, Carden Grant, Dominic Grant and niece Adeline Grant.
George was predeceased by his father Thomas Selwyn Warner in 1972, his mother Eva Maude Warner in 1991, and his brother Robert James Warner in 2018.
George enjoyed the simple pleasures of life socializing, dancing, riding his motorcycle, camping with his many friends, gardening, sitting under his cherry tree, golfing with his buddies, especially his sister Rose, and quiet times with his wife. He loved his children and grandchildren and they loved him for his kindly humour and calming demeanour.
It is difficult to express how thankful we are to the nurses and staff at PRH for their care and support and a sincere thank you to Dr. Ron Gans, the family physician.
"You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they were here."
