In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Goldie Gawne.
Mom passed away peacefully in the afternoon of December 29, 2023 in Penticton B.C. after an amazing 97 years of life.
Goldie was predeceased by her loving husband Bill (Thomas William) in June 1993.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Len Gawne, Louise Gawne and Shirley Gawne. Brother John Drossos (Louise), Val Blackwell fondly called daughter # 3 by Goldie and Veronica Havers the mother of her grandchildren Jennifer Gawne Ronald, Erin Biagioni and Amanda Gawne.
Mom was the last matriarch of the Gawne clan, she shared her positive spirit, radiant warmth and kind sensibility with all who knew her. Mom was blessed with a lively sense of humour, intellect and curiosity for all things new and a good juicy story!
She will be missed dearly and the countless warm memories of her will live on in our hearts.
The family would like to extend our immense gratitude to the care team of lower grape pod, Haven Hill Care Center for the care and support given to mom.
Goldie will be interred in the family plot at Naramata cemetery later this spring.
