Henry Edward Robert Oliver
April 11, 1922 – September 15, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry (Hank) Edward Robert Oliver on September 15, 2017 in Penticton, BC.
Hank was born April 11, 1922 in Vancouver, BC and lived to 95 years old. He will be joining his beloved wife of 66 years, Lucille Audrie Oliver (1924-2011).
Hank is survived by his sister Doreen Leard; daughter Lynne Cook (Ed) of Penticton BC; son Richard Oliver (Shirley) of Goodyear AZ, and son Robert Oliver (Lori) of Okanagan Falls; grandchildren Kim Finlayson, Chris Billon (Lani), Matthew Billon, Travis Oliver, Alexandra Oliver, Ashley Wenke (Matt), Haley Oliver, and Dustin Oliver; and great-grandchildren Spencer Finlayson, Ethan Finlayson, Olivia Wenke, and Ava Wenke
Hank served in the Royal Canadian Airforce during WWII and was a dedicated community servant with many years in the 890 South Okanagan Wing Air Force Assoc. of Canada, Penticton Masonic Lodge No 147 and Penticton Shrine Club No. 20.
A pattern maker by trade, Hank worked in foundry sales until retirement when he moved to Okanagan Falls. Very shortly after retirement he was asked if could make patterns for Peach City Foundry and soon after established a business, Okanagan Pattern & Sales Ltd. with his youngest son, Rob. After 35 years he actually retired.
Hank was charitable, social, well-read, and well-travelled. He enjoyed life, friends, and most importantly, his family. Hank will be greatly missed and thought of often.
A funeral service will be held at 1141 Cedar St. Okanagan Falls (OK Falls Elementary), on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
