"Together again"
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Louise Hunter at the age of 97 on July 31, 2023.
Louise was born and raised in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan where she met and married the love of her life Richard (Dick) Hunter on April 29, 1948. They moved to Penticton a few years later where they enjoyed raising their two boys and square dancing with their friends.
Louise worked as an Enumerator for Census Canada and then in the houseware department of Woodward's until she retired in 1988. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army for several years.
Louise was a generous, thoughtful and compassionate person and she also had a wonderful sense of humour. She was devoted to her family and also a great friend to others and will be truly missed.
Louise is survived by her children Garth and Clyde (Angele), her two granddaughters Melissa (Andrew) and Bria (Rob), her great-grandchildren Meyer and Sunny as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard who passed away in 2003.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at Westview South for their excellent and professional care during her stay and especially during her final days.
There will be a memorial to celebrate Louise's life at Everden Rust, Aug. 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm (1130 Carmi Ave., Penticton).
