Dec 13, 1934 - Nov 28, 2017
Martin was born in Hornum, Denmark on December 13th, 1934 and immigrated to Canada with his parents and brother in 1951.

He lived a full life and passed away quietly at home on November 28th, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Chris, his mother Gudrun, his brother Aksel and his son Lance.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Margaret, his children Chris (Irene), Michelle (Ken), Debbie (Jim), Leanne (James) and Ella (Alistair), daughter-in-law Lyndi, his grandchildren Martin, Matthew (Helena), Jade, Landen, Jackson, Nate, Astrid, Arlo and Munroe as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Martin was a resident of the community for many years, having moved to Penticton in 1975 and then to Kaleden in 1993. He was a life-long entrepreneur who was well liked by, and had an affinity for, his employees and peers.

Many locals may remember Martin from his businesses: Valley Waste Systems, Barley Mill Motors and Martin Pedersen Trucking.

Outside of work, Martin loved spending time with his friends. Stock car racing was a passion and he enjoyed NASCAR events as well as the local races at Penticton Speedway. In more recent years, he found joy in hosting Sunday brunch for family, friends and neighbours which always included quality, FRESH cakes and pastries.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends but we are comforted to know he is no longer suffering.

A celebration of Martin's life will be held Sunday, December 10th at 1:30 pm at The Salvation Army at 2469 S. Main St., Penticton.
