1931 - 2019 ~ Patricia Rose Carby passed away on May 30, 2019 at the age of 87 years, following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her four children: Steven Barber, Debbie Mishima (Ross), Chris Barber (Karen) and Roxann Jellett (Craig), along with her many grandchildren: Bill, Kelly Jean, Travis, Christina, Kathy, Tyler, Jade, Jeff, Boone, Michelle, Don, Len and Joanna as well as her step-children: Shawn, Shannon and Alana and her sister Maureen Hyde (Ron), plus her many great-grandchildren and extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, brothers and sister, Jean, Vern and Dave.
Mom was a very accomplished woman. Besides being a wonderful mom and gramma, she worked most of her life. She was the first woman chocolatier in Canada, a real estate agent and 21 years in management for Purdy's Chocolates. She also won a beauty contest when she was 18. She enjoyed retirement in the Township of Granisle where she made many friends and where her two sons also reside.
Mom moved to Penticton a couple of years ago where she took up residence at the Hamlets in assisted living. She made many friends and memories there and considered it her "home".
Special thanks to the wonderful, caring staff and residents of the Hamlets; mom loved each and every one of you. To the staff at Westview Place for their compassionate care in her final days, we thank you. A celebration of life will be held at the Hamlets, time and date to be determined.
