In loving memory ~
Sara Thiessen passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4th in Penticton, BC. She was predeceased by her husband, Barney and is survived by her children Stan (Jody) Thiessen of Merritt, Diane (Shawn) Dineen of Penticton, Iris (Graeme) Duncan of Penticton and Teresa Thiessen of Langley. Her grandchildren Alecia Blais, Bryce Duncan, Ryan Dineen, Jollee Perrier and Annie Perrier as well as her great grandchildren Addison and Levi Blais will all miss their Granny dearly. Born March 5, 1933 in Dunrae, Manitoba Sara (Ratzlaff) was six when her family moved to BC and settled in South Abbotsford. There she met Barney Thiessen and were married April 1960. With their 4 young children the family moved to Kamloops in 1965 and then to Penticton in the beautiful Okanagan in 1978. As an LPN Sara worked as a nurse and home caregiver. Sara was very artistic and was an accomplished painter, seamstress and crafter. She always loved an opportunity to decorate their church for special occasions. Sara devoted her life to her church and made lifelong friends as a member of the Grace Mennonite Brethern church in Penticton. Our family would like to thank all the caregivers that came to her home as well as the compassionate staff at Moog & Friends Hospice. A Celebration of Sara's life will be held at Everden Rust Funeral Services (1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton) on Saturday, April 06, 2024 at 1:00PM.
