After all the people that were here for the triathlon and in conversation with a friend who works at the trade and convention centre, I asked how they did on tips. I was informed that the city gets all the tips.
These servers set up tables, serve the food, and do the cleanup after and they don’t get the tips?
I think it’s a disgrace. The people work hard and they deserve the tips, not the city. Maybe the city hopes to balance the budget on the backs of those who work in the service trades and try to make it a place people want to return to.
