It takes a village

I have always known that it “takes a village” to raise a child but recently that message was brought home by a total stranger.

I have always known that it “takes a village” to raise a child but recently that message was brought home by a total stranger.

My son was riding his bike to school when he crashed. A lovely woman brought him safely home, bloody and crying, bike in her trunk, no questions asked. Unfortunately, I was too flustered to thank her properly or get her name.

I would like to thank her for taking the time to care for my son so well, most likely making herself late for work in the process. As I administered first aid to my little man, he said to me “the good thing about all this is that nice lady is no longer a stranger, mommy”.

Thank you “stranger no more” for becoming part of my “village”.
